The Chicago Cubs have signed free agent right-handed relief pitcher Michael Fulmer to a one-year deal according to Ken Rosenthal of the The Athletic.
Fulmer helps round out the bullpen in a move the Cubs were widely expected to make ahead of pitchers and catchers reporting for Spring Training. We just wrote on Friday how Chicago had a desire to bring in at least one more impact arm in the coming days.
The righty was a MLB All-Star in 2017 as a starter with the Detroit Tigers. During the 2021 MLB season Fulmer made the transition from the rotation to the bullpen following Tommy John surgery and elbow injuries.

He has found success out of the bullpen and registered a 3.39 ERA with a 1.366 WHIP in 2022 over the course of 63.2 innings pitched.
Fulmer brings a level of experience to the Cubs bullpen that has been lacking and is considered an impact arm. He should be a nice addition to the roster as the Cubs continue to make their case as contenders.
